Once upon a time I remarked to my partner that, as a general rule, I couldn't get into four on the floor patterned tunes at all, and that producing house, techno, et al, were too dry for me to bother. She pushed back, and I immediately set to work on this record: I told her when I started that the record was an attempt to prove that I understood the material, and if it sucked then the genres sucked, and if I couldn't do it, then I needed to hit the books a bit more.

What I didn't tell her at the time was that I was desperate to write material she could connect with. When she reacted positively and spontaneously to my early demos, I knew that I was on to something creatively, but more importantly, it made me (briefly) the happiest I had been creatively in a long time. It's my hope that the energy of this record does similar things for you.
